We are located on beautiful Tamarac Island on the shore of Lake Huron. Our extensive property covers both sides of the island, so you can experience the sunrise in the morning and the sunset in the evening. Guests can also enjoy swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boating from our large dock, or just sit and take in the tranquility of the surroundings from the decks and patio areas. We also offer a boat launch, docking, beach area, firepits, BBQs and an outdoor kitchen for our guests.
The Motel
Wake up to the soothing sounds of waves gently lapping the white limestone shoreline and take in some of the most breathtaking sunrises from the comfort of your bed. You can then step out the sliding glass doors and enjoy your coffee on our large deck which provides an unobstructed view of our dock and the lake.
We have 6 newly renovated motel rooms, each with a queen-sized bed, futon, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. We take pride in our rooms being sparkling clean. Unwind after a long day of exploring with a refreshing swim or go fishing, kayaking, canoeing or paddle boating from our dock. We also offer a brand new fully-equipped outdoor kitchen for our motel guests. In the outdoor kitchen, while looking at the amazing view, you can prep to barbeque and make simple meals. You can leisurely barbeque while you sit at the patio area. Later take in the amazing starry night sky as you gather around a campfire using the outdoor fire pit.
Our Cottage
Our private cottage is perfect for a family. It features an open concept design with a full kitchen, bedroom with a queen-sized bed, loft area with two single beds, 3-piece bathroom, satellite TV, WIFI, 2 private decks with patio furniture, BBQ, and fire pit.
Guests have access to our entire property, including waterfront and beach area, patio areas, docks, water activities (kayaks, canoes, paddleboard and paddle boat), and gardens. The cottage faces west, so it is perfectly positioned to capture stunning sunsets.
The cottage includes all kitchen appliances (fridge, propane cooktop, microwave, toaster, coffee maker), cooking and eating utensils (pots and pans, plates, glasses), private BBQ, decks and dock.
Our Inn/Waterfront Villa
This is a treasure for large families and groups. We have completely renovated the Inn / Waterfront Villa. The exterior lends a nod to coastal living with its grey wood siding and shakes, white accents, massive decks, and a round nautical window peeking out on the second story. The interior has a clean, fresh and light feel with white painted shiplap, laid back coastal/cottage furnishings, and beachy linens. The Villa/Inn offers three accommodation options:
Option 1:The Front of Villa
The front of the Villa offers lots of space. This rental includes: large sunroom/sitting area, full kitchen and dining area, 5 bedrooms (4 queen beds, 1 king bed), two washrooms, two large decks, private BBQ and fire pit, full access to entire property including waterfront, beach area, all docks, picnic tables, and water activities (kayaks, canoes, paddleboard and paddle boat).
Option 2:The Apart-Motel
The Apart-Motel (back of the Villa) is a self-contained rental suite within the Villa. It is like a large cottage with a funky name! This rental has a private entrance from a massive deck. The Apart-Motel offers a full kitchen, bedroom with a queen sized bed and twin bunk beds, and two sitting areas, each with pullout sofa sleepers. Guests can also enjoy access to a private BBQ and fire pit, full access to entire property including waterfront, beach area, all docks, picnic tables, and water activities (kayaks, canoes, paddleboard and paddle boat).
Option 3:The Full Villa (with or without Conference Center)
This option is perfect for large families, business conferences, retreats, and event accommodations. The rental can also include the event and conference area with bar and public washrooms. The Villa is surrounded by massive decks, perfect for BBQing or sitting with a drink and watching the sunset. You also have a private fire pit area for family members to gather around in the evening.
