Wassail is an annual event held in Prince Edward County which celebrates another harvest and the laying of vines to rest. The event normally takes place over 3 weekends in November & December and each participating winery hosts a variety of winter festivities including things like mulled wines, tasty treats and caroling. Unfortunately due to Covid, Wassail will not be happening officially this year, but we are still open on weekends until Sunday, Nov.29th. Mastronardi Estate Winery offers award winning wines on a 100 acre historic vineyard. MEW is home to Vino Vista - the areas premier outdoor event center Mastronardi Estate Winery is nestled in the heart of Essex County wine region. This family-run winery exhibits a distinguished name in all things agricultural; whether it be their history in the greenhouse fresh produce industry or growing grapes on the 100-acre vineyard. Winemakers,Tony and Jared Mastronardi — a father and son duo — work side by side creating award winning VQA wines that will please every palate. Our unique European-style tasting room is open 7 days a week where knowledgeable staff can help you find the perfect wine for any occasion. The 100 acre vineyard, originally planted over 25 years ago during the revival of wine production in Southern Ontario, produces many varietals of Vinifera. The vines thrive amongst 1000 + acres of vineyards in Southwestern Ontario, located along a peninsula that wraps around the north shore of Lake Erie. The moderating effect of the climate is ensured by the warm waters of Lake Erie, the Detroit River and Lake St. Clair, which surround this peninsula. It is the location along the 42nd north parallel (similar to that of French Riviera, Mendecino California, Tuscany Italy and southern France) that gives Lake Erie North Shore the highest accumulation of heat units in Ontario each summer. This Lake effect along with abundant sunshine results in the high sugars and ideal acid levels of each varietal. Therefore, an earlier harvest is common.

From these humble beginnings we have continued to grow thanks to an incredible wine maker, our excellent staff and an extremely loyal and supportive base of customers, both local and from abroad. We are steadfast in our decision to remain small and craft in order to continue offering only the absolute premium quality products. These convictions and efforts enable our small winery to stand strong alongside our neighbouring vineyards.

At Descendants Beer & Beverage Co. we craft our own delicious beer. We have a full bar, eatery, beer garden & beer store. Our unique space offers a venue for birthdays, weddings & corporate events. We are family friendly and independently owned. Descendants Beer & Beverage Co. is a craft brewery in Kitchener, Ontario. Incorporated in 2013, Descendants opened their location at 319 Victoria St. N. Kitchener in April of 2016. The bierhalle and bottle shop have an ever changing selection of brews to try. We have a full bar that includes guest craft beer taps, local craft cider, local craft spirits and local craft wine. We also serve non-alcoholic drink options. We have a unique and affordable venue for your next special event. Locally acclaimed Little Mushroom Catering has a satellite location within the brewery with a delicious food menu. Our very own Ottawa vineyard. Come visit us to taste our selection of wines, purchase some wonderful bottles or plan a special event on our premises. During the covid-19 pandemic, we are offering home deliveries while our tasting room remains closed. In 1999, Denis Perrault, a local dairy farmer started a grape growing operation on the family farm in Navan, Ontario. He originally planted 1 acre consisting of 1,000 vines of approximately 10 varieties of hybrids in consultation with a vine expert from the University of Guelph. In the spring of 2005, an additional 5 acres (5,000 vines) were planted which will provide the Domaine Perrault with a production capacity of more than 11,000 bottles. From that day, the dream of a vineyard in the city of Ottawa was realized! Domaine Perrault was incorporated in 2005 and is owned and operated by Denis, his wife Lyse and their two daughters Anne and Dominique. In early 2006, Domaine Perrault applied for its license as a manufacturer and winemaker along with a license to operate a wine retail store on the premises of the Navan vineyard. The principal winemaker, Marcel Sarrazin, took his retirement in September of 2008 and has since been replaced by Bernard Martineau, an Ottawa-renowned oenologist with 40 years of experience. In 2007, Sylvie Goulet joined our team. She was in charge of the wine store and our representative for hotels and restaurants in Ottawa. Sylvie moved with her family to British-Columbia in June 2010. We were lucky to hire Julie Ricard to replace her. Julie is a graduate of the Algonquin College sommelier course and her responsibilities are the wine store, attending wine shows and serving wine at different functions around Ottawa and is our liaison with hotels and restaurants.
