It’s been said that Glencairn is the closest you’ll come to Scotland without crossing the Atlantic. From the moment you pass the stone gates and wind your way between rock fences to the majestic multi-turreted clubhouse, you will feel like you just arrived at a Scottish links. Designed by Thomas McBroom, Glencairn’s 27 links-style holes are punctuated by steep pot bunkers and framed by fescue that waves menacingly in the ever-present wind that buffets the Halton Hills just west of Toronto. Burns (narrow meandering streams) cut through the heaving landscape of the Niagara Escarpment. You’ll have to be creative on the tight lies that surround the mammoth undulating greens. Afterwards, luxuriate in the castle-like clubhouse modeled after Scotland’s Muirfield, featuring brilliant photographs from three decades of Open Championship golf taken by award-winning photographer Doug Ball. Grab an ale in a cozy corner of the magnificently appointed Friar Pub or end your work week with a Friday night on the patio listening to one of the live bands that offer some sounds of the summer to savour with your delectable meal. The magnificent clubhouse is also an idyllic spot for hosting weddings, banquets or meetings. Make the short jaunt to Glencairn, transport yourself to Scotland, and save the plane fare.
It seems we can't find what you're looking for.

In 2009 founder Christopher L. Moon observed that the historic church hall of Grace United Church was experiencing growing numbers of people coming through its doors seeking help, support, and community. The largest part were Brampton’s neediest people: the homeless and those who lived on the edges of society. The building meanwhile was underutilized and not meeting the needs of its user organizations to provide supports for the visitors. As a result many of the city’s poorest and most vulnerable people were increasingly at risk. He, along with Rev. Ross Leckie and a committed core of others in Grace United Church, chose to do more. With a deep focus on community outreach and the support of the church they set out to create Grace Place, operated by Grace Place Community Resource Centre. The mission of Grace Place is to be a welcoming, safe, economical place for the community to gather and community organizations to deliver their programs. This impactful organization has given the local community an opportunity to engage and transform the lives of Brampton residents. Grace Place invited non-profit organizations to operate within the walls of Grace United Church. This approach allowed Grace Place to maximize its ability to help. Even more, Grace Place had the opportunity to tackle a variety of major concerns, such as, food insecurity, addiction, and health issues, by accommodating organizations with a focus on these issues. “From providing the basic necessities to a listening ear, Grace Place organizations provide services and programs which begin the process of healing the mind, body and spirit,” says Grace Place General Manager Lucy Kristan. “Grace Place has become a vital community hub for social service supports in our city.”

Designed by Hall of Fame architect Robbie Robinson, Georgetown GC opened in 1958 as a lovely parkland course known for its wonderfully rambunctious character, complete with valleys, scenic views, elevated tee shots, and the Credit River that runs through the property. Since it joined the ClubLink family and was renamed Eagle Ridge Golf Club, the course has undergone a series of upgrades, including significant renovations to tee boxes, bunkers and fairways. After 17 years of operating as Eagle Ridge Golf Club, which followed a business model conversion from a Daily Fee Club to Member Club, the club was rebranded as Georgetown Golf Club. Georgetown Golf Club is a classic strategic course, providing the golfer with plenty of options, but there are times when you’ve got to make the shot, such as the harrowing approach to the par-4 10th green set on a hillside guarded by giant stands of trees. The charming clubhouse has a beautiful patio overlooking the 18th green, a bar with great character for lunch, dinner or just a beverage, as well as meeting space and a banquet room perfect for weddings or parties. Georgetown is also renowned for its Friday night barbecues and Sunday brunches. Georgetown Golf Club is a lovely walk made even better in the Escarpment countryside just northwest of Greater Toronto.
