It’s been said that Glencairn is the closest you’ll come to Scotland without crossing the Atlantic. From the moment you pass the stone gates and wind your way between rock fences to the majestic multi-turreted clubhouse, you will feel like you just arrived at a Scottish links. Designed by Thomas McBroom, Glencairn’s 27 links-style holes are punctuated by steep pot bunkers and framed by fescue that waves menacingly in the ever-present wind that buffets the Halton Hills just west of Toronto. Burns (narrow meandering streams) cut through the heaving landscape of the Niagara Escarpment. You’ll have to be creative on the tight lies that surround the mammoth undulating greens. Afterwards, luxuriate in the castle-like clubhouse modeled after Scotland’s Muirfield, featuring brilliant photographs from three decades of Open Championship golf taken by award-winning photographer Doug Ball. The Grand Maple Event Centre is a premier event venue located in the charming waterfront village of Hastings, Ontario. Formerly a Presbyterian church dating back to 1897, the historic building has been meticulously transformed into a strikingly elegant event space. The current owners, Bill and Catherine Ma, have lovingly preserved and restored the building’s character-defining elements, craftsmanship, decorative details, stained glass windows and artwork. Their mission is to provide a bespoke event space for truly unforgettable celebrations including weddings, corporate events, performances and photo/video shoots.
Originally the Dominion Bank in the late 1800’s, One King West has since been transformed into a luxurious escape from the daily grind. While modern and stylish, our building still holds true to its historic roots, evidenced in the way we have incorporated the beauty of our building’s original design into what is now considered a destination amongst Toronto hotels. Conveniently located in downtown Toronto, One King West added “The Sliver”, standing fifty-one storey’s high to accommodate the steady demand for premium hotel real estate. In total, One King West provides five hundred suites and a two storey penthouse giving guests a wide variety of suites to choose from. Although the building was originally a bank it has been converted and reconstructed effectively to bring optimal use. The Grand Banking Hall is an example of early 20th-century classicism with elaborate detailing including grand Corinthian columns and towering windows, and has been converted into a large meeting room with a bar. The historic vault in the basement can be used for private meetings or meals. While visiting One King West you can’t help but to appreciation the enriched architecture and history embedded within our luxury hotel.
