It’s been said that Glencairn is the closest you’ll come to Scotland without crossing the Atlantic. From the moment you pass the stone gates and wind your way between rock fences to the majestic multi-turreted clubhouse, you will feel like you just arrived at a Scottish links. Designed by Thomas McBroom, Glencairn’s 27 links-style holes are punctuated by steep pot bunkers and framed by fescue that waves menacingly in the ever-present wind that buffets the Halton Hills just west of Toronto. Burns (narrow meandering streams) cut through the heaving landscape of the Niagara Escarpment. You’ll have to be creative on the tight lies that surround the mammoth undulating greens. Afterwards, luxuriate in the castle-like clubhouse modeled after Scotland’s Muirfield, featuring brilliant photographs from three decades of Open Championship golf taken by award-winning photographer Doug Ball. Grab an ale in a cozy corner of the magnificently appointed Friar Pub or end your work week with a Friday night on the patio listening to one of the live bands that offer some sounds of the summer to savour with your delectable meal. The magnificent clubhouse is also an idyllic spot for hosting weddings, banquets or meetings. Make the short jaunt to Glencairn, transport yourself to Scotland, and save the plane fare.
It seems we can't find what you're looking for.

April 17, 1948, a group of 15 local men formed the charter for R.C.L.Branch 486. At that time, Bronte was a part of Trafalgar Township, so the Branch was named R.C.L Branch 486 Bronte Trafalgar. Bronte was eventually annexed and became part of Oakville. As a result of this, on June 6, 1975, the Branch was renamed R.C.L., General Chris Vokes Branch, in honor of Brigadier-General Chris Vokes, who served in the Italian campaign in WW2. Originally there was no Legion building so the meetings were held at the homes of the original members. In 1968, 20 men each loaned Branch 486 a sum of $2500.00, which was used to build the structure that we now use. These loans were all repaid. In the mid-'70s, women were given full privileges and allowed to come to the clubroom at any time. Branch 486 has always been called "The Friendliest Legion Branch" and The Branch members look forward to meeting visitors and new members in order to welcome them to our Branch. Branch 486 is located on the corner of Jones Street and Marine Drive, just one block from the Lake in Trendy Bronte.

Before Brunswick Bierworks even opened its doors, it was already legendary. Built in 1891, the marvelous Brunswick Hotel stood on the North-East corner of Winnipeg’s Rupert Avenue and Main Street. Though the building is now gone, the memories live on, especially in the mind of one of our founders. His family grew up in the iconic hotel and identified strongly with its salt-of-the-earth patrons, who were welcomed as if it was their home. A prominent landmark in town and across from City Hall, The Brunswick boasted a barbershop, cigar & news stand, restaurant, pub and retail bottle shop. It was a proudly-run family business focusing on service, diversity and local community. In the 1960’s, the hotel acted as a key contributor to the thriving Winnipeg rock music scene, famously embracing groups and ethnicities that other venues ignored. The Brunswick was sold in 1973 and, sadly, was demolished soon after. The Brunswick Hotel may not have been fancy, but it was authentic and an anchor of the community. It’s with this original spirit of community that Brunswick Bierworks welcomes our customers and brewer partners – to a friendly, accommodating atmosphere where people can check in, meet, have fun and stay awhile. By coincidence, our Brewery was once the previous home to another Brunswick - Brunswick Fine Furniture. This facility was well-known around the world for its dedication to craftsmanship and quality. Craftsmanship and quality are words we live by every day. Inspired by our past, we focus on providing a dedicated, personalized service to our brewing partners, while welcoming all our beer-loving guests to sample craft brews of exceptional taste.
Since 1970 the Dundee Country Club has provided golfers of the Kitchener/Waterloo area with a dignified combination of scenic atmosphere and challenging golf. With a total yardage of 6,357 yards from the championship tees the course offers an even distribution of shot values for the golfer with six par threes, six par fours and six par fives. Thanks to almost four decades of maturation, Dundee is graced by many large and beautiful trees which provide both shelter and hazard for many of the holes. But trees aren't the only hazard you'll have to watch out for as a number of ponds scattered throughout the course bring water into play on no less than 11 holes.
